ER 4043 is a universal aluminum-silicon welding wire containing 5% silicon; It has excellent welding performance with smooth arc, low spatter level, beautiful and bright bead appearance
The product is applicable for welding heat-treatable aluminum alloys, especially for 6XXX series alloys, with low sensitivity to hot cracks;
It has lower melting point and better fluidity than 5XXX series aluminum alloy;
Anodizing treatment is not recommended;
Si is easy to form Mg2Si brittle phase with Mg, which reduces the plasticity and corrosion resistance of weld. Generally, 4043 aluminum-magnesium alloy is not used for welding.
