From May 11 to 13 2024, the International Conference on Welding Equipment and Technology in Harsh Environments of the C-XI Pressure Vessels, Boiler&Pipelines Committee of the International Institute of Welding (IIW) was successfully held in Jinan city, Shandong Province. The meeting was hosted by Shandong University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering Welding branch co-organized, attracted more than 80 experts and scholars from China, Poland and other countries attended the meeting, and more than 20 experts and scholars participated in the meeting through online means to joint discuss about the latest progress of welding technology and equipment in harsh environments. Professor Wu Sujun of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Chairman of the C-XI Committee of the International Society of Welding (IIW), the chairman of the conference, Professor Jia Chuanbao of Shandong University, member of the Welding Branch of Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, the chairman of the organizing committee.
Before meeting closing, Professor Wu Sujun, the president of the conference, made a concluding speech, fully affirming and thanking the participating experts for their wonderful reports and in-depth discussions and exchanges. Professor Li Xiaoyan from Beijing University of Technology, on behalf of the International Institute of Welding (IIW), highly affirmed the success of this meeting, believing that this meeting significantly exceeded expectations, the on-site discussion was heated, and the international exchange effect was well.
This conference not only provides a platform for domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the field of welding to display the latest research results,exchange academic ideas, but also injects new vitality into the innovation and development of international welding technology. It is believed that with the joint efforts of the global welding community, welding technology in harsh environment will continue to make new breakthroughs and progress.
